Installing custom packages through terminal

When trying to install packages, I get the following warning:
“WARNING: The directory ‘/home/jovyan/.cache/pip’ or its parent directory is not owned or is not writable by the current user. The cache has been disabled. Check the permissions and owner of that directory. If executing pip with sudo, you may want sudo’s -H flag.”

Does this mean I can’t install packages?

Hi there @kvothe – You should have no issues installing packages via pip. Be it via a full blown cli terminal or from within a notebook cell (!pip install [your desired packagename]). Could you share more on which container you experienced this issue?

The error message was generated on the data science stack container.
